ADVENTURE AWAITS
Grant’s Bulldog Award is based on Utah’s Portrait of a Graduate.
Utah’s Portrait of a Graduate identifies the ideal characteristics of a Utah graduate after going through the K-12 education system. These characteristics begin at home and are cultivated in educational settings. Therefore, you will find goals that will need to be accomplished in different settings in order to develop a well-rounded individual and prepare them for life in the 21st century.
Each student will choose and set goals from each of the following areas that relate to the state’s Portrait of a Graduate Program:
- Academic Mastery
- Service, Respect, Collaboration and Teamwork
- Civic, Financial, Economic and Digital Literacy
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
- Creativity, Innovation and Communication
- Hard Work, Resilience, Honesty, Integrity and Responsibility
- Lifelong Learning, Personal Growth and Wellness
Forms must be signed by a parent and returned to the office no later than Monday, May 4, 2026 if a student wishes to earn the Bulldog Award. For more information about the Portrait of a Graduate program, please visit the state's website.

The SafeUT program is a free, confidential, and anonymous crisis chat and tip line that provides immediate support to students, parents, and educators in Utah. Available 24/7, 365 days a year, the service is staffed by licensed mental health professionals from the University of Utah's Huntsman Mental Health Institute. Through the SafeUT app or website, users can start a chat with a counselor, submit a tip about safety concerns like bullying or self-harm, and receive real-time crisis intervention for issues big or small. The program's goal is to offer a safe space for people to get help with mental health challenges, emotional crises, and safety concerns, ultimately working to prevent suicide and violence in schools.

The safety of our students is always our highest priority. To ensure that everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency, our school follows the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). This is a nationally recognized safety plan that uses simple, common language to help staff, students, and families respond effectively.
Here’s what families need to know:
- During an emergency, please do not come to the school. This can block first responders and create unsafe situations.
- Do not call the school. Phone lines must stay open for emergency communication.
- Stay informed. We will send updates through ParentSquare.
- Reunification. If students need to be picked up from school or another location, we will use a controlled reunification process. Only parents/guardians or those listed as emergency contacts will be allowed to pick up a child. Please bring a photo ID. In an emergency, if reunification is necessary, the school will inform you through ParentSquare where that reunification will take place.
- Keep information current. Make sure the office has your most up-to-date phone numbers and emergency contacts.
We practice SRP drills throughout the year (such as Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter, and Hold) so students and staff are prepared. While we hope we never face a real emergency, being prepared ensures that we can keep students safe.
